What and Why of War?
When it comes to war, there are many reasons why a countries are put in a position or choose to join others in a war. When it comes to human life we all have a sense of dignity and there are many ways that we acheive this justice. We believe there is a need to support other in the pursuit of basic needs. It is very important to mention how the ways that governments and media outlets can manipulates the ways we understand the state of wars based on the ways that people choose to interpret the actions of either side during any war. Many governments have started wars in the ideas of conquering and sometimes we have to look at our motives for war, to make sure they are not rooted in the colonial ideals of conquering or manipulating others. The civilians and military at the time were directlly impacted by their placement within the war, as well as the tragedy they see or that happens to them. Many of the people who experience the effects of war, do not even acknowlegde that it maybe an effect of the war. Children without parents or missing aunts/uncles/ grandparents, they may not know who was effected by the war due to the silencing of those who are directly lost or die in the fight. The veteran community will all have different understandings of war based on their placement and activity in the military. Many have found that their participation in the military institution during war, are those who believe in anti-war activism the most. While there have been many wars that were fought for the ideal good, but the sending of mass amount of people to die for a conversation that needs to take place honestly. It's important for us to remember how war can centralize and decentralize the issues of the communities at home, and replace them with the economic issues that are the responsibilty of those at home. People shouldn't die for any war, and there are many ways that we can handle disputes without using deadly force on civilian people.
What happens during War (historically)?
When it comes to the ways of war there are several things that are common to be tactics, seen, or used in war throughout the past several hundred years, but are still occurant. Things like rape, abuse, torture, and killing of children, women, and men are typically used in war to instill fear in those of the people in the villages of wherever the troops are stationed. We've seen actions in the following but not limited too: American Mexican War, American Civil War, World War 1, World War 2, Vietnam War, and date back to the strategies of early colonialists and the Crusades lead by Christians in the 1000s. We know that there are many ways that people who want to instill fear into large groups of people decide to do so. It's important that we make sure that we have a good understanding of the atrocities that are happening to other people during war, or have happen to people in the past. These events stay with the people and their future lives and families of those individuals. Often times during war, and within military institutions, these forms of abuse are more common than typcial public occurance. The ways that soliders (predominantly men or AFAB individuals) choose rape and torture as a way of controlling those around them, even when those individuals are apart of their own troops. When it comes to control people will do anything to take authority and dominance over others. In the terms of war, even though one may be severely stressed, it is never okay to treat people of any kind, with the indecenecy of the horrors of war. Often times the politic objective of the governemnt is not hte same as the political objective of the people whom make up that government body.
Systems of War:
Systems of war may not seem important but they can help us understand the ways that wars start, and why our attention should be thought of globally and locally and nationally. When it comes to war, many times the people believe they know what they are fighting for, but some sides in a war may feel as though their participation has unknown origins. This causes severely different understandings and expereinces during war. Many people will discuss for example in the Vietnam War, about how American implementation of themselves for the assumed good of avoiding communism in Vietnam. There are several veterans who have a strong dislike or misplaced trust for the reasons for the war in the United States government.
Guns, Bombs, and Nukes, what they have done to the potentials of war. When it comes to the more modern motives of the wars that are fought, there are not many ways to stop the inovation. However, we see the ways that they continue to magnify the impact of the destruction of the people on the other side of the fight. There is nothing to be more worried about than the technologies that are behind the human soliders in the war. The humans behind the technology are still responsible for the effects of that technology take sout on whom/whatever they impact. Every person is human with human fears, and the war technologies have created a new height for fears. The fear of passing on the effects of biological warfare that are used to target the cores functions of your body to either kill or encapacitate you. The fear of nuclear weapons in the idea of them hitting home civilians or the idea of using them as a weapon of war knowing that it will causes decades of death and illness to come.
Gender of War:
Sometimes when discussing war we see it as a male centric ideal because women have often been seen to have no implication or influences on war; however, we know that women have always had very influential and important roles during every war. When men (AFAB individuals) were subjected to going and fighting in the wars, there were women nurses, women suport services on the battle field or close by. Often there were always women handling the homesteads, or taking care of children and estates after the passing or injury to their male counter-part. Of course, we know that in our day and age women are apart of the drafting process and the abilty to serve; but we have also never seen it in action before, so at this time our prior understanding of war and gender may be confusing.
We know that gender has been used as a way for having expectations of masculinity and feminity in the event and response to war. When it comes to the effects of the war on the understanding of placement in gender, we may have different understandings of that based on our own placement. There is a large part of war that revolves around the ideas of toxic masculinity, these ideals are applied to both AFAB and AMAB individuals (or both/all sexes). When war breaks out the most aggressive tendencies can occur in a time of fear, but the actions of misogyny by fearing emotion and reality are felt forever. It's important that during any time of fear of war that we discuss the ins and outs of how it will effect each and everyone of use.
Ethics is more important than Politics during war and annihilation:
When we are talking about an unjust attack on civilians,
