Goals

Education

We know that access to education varies in every area and community, based on the resources allocated, illegal ethnic gerrymandering of schools, and overall lack of certain topics being of key interest for people to talk about growing up with their parents or people in their community. These topics include but are not limited to: Drug Education/& Harm Prevention, Sexual Education, Health Eduation, Communication Education, and Suicide/ Mental Health Related Awareness-Education.

Community Organzing

Community Organizing can be a tough tool to master, and it takes a lot of time and effort. But knowing when and how to discuss the difficult conversations with your community members. Mutual Aid groups, are beneficial to help take on small tasks that are needed by others in the community. All of these things start with being apart of a community and putting yourself into it as someone people can trust.

Understanding Identity

Understanding Identities can be difficult, especially since a lot of our social systems in place force certain identities- most of which we accept.  So while new identities can be difficult to understand, it doesn't mean it's not worth trying! People often change their identities throughout life, as we all have different stages and placements.

Ranges of Gender and Sexual Identities have always been around, but have not always been discussed in every environment, but we are here to help clear up the fog with knowing yourself and your identity, but also understanding the new presentation of people in your life!

Safety & Harm Reduction

Our site was developed to bridge the gap in safety and knowlegde in difficult situations. Growing up as Gen Z, we all had different experiences with drugs, gun violence, sexual activity, sexual desires, appropriate communication with the people around you, health education, hygiene, mental health. This means that we had a lot of gaps in the conversations we were having with our peers and our parents about the choices we faced when we were in high school and college. We are aiming to provide a large range of information to shorten this gap in readily information for teens and young adults.

Mental Health & Care of Self

Mental Health obviously plays a huge role is most of people's lives, whether or not we are always conscious of it. We know that being aware of what symptoms to look out for, growing up can help us be more aware of when we are "allowed" to ask for help. (Many younger people don't know whether or not asking for help is okay, when they feel 'normal', 'not as bad as some people they know', etc.)

We want to put information for helping support and understand boundaries with friends, as well as set boundaries and ask for support when you are in need.

Suicide Prevention is a large part of why we are here.  Lots of our members are Gen Z, neurodivergent, queer individuals, that have fled states and families that are unsupportive. While we know many have experience with suicidal ideations and attempts, and that struggle is real and valid. We aim to remind people that another life is possible that doesn't include the pain that people may be experiencing right now, and there are resources available.

Unlearning Discrimination Systems

As a community we have a lot to do to disassemble our social systems that we have learned, and we have lots to learn in the process. We are dedicated to giving our best summaries of our learned information, but remember that unlearning social systems will be continous. We hope that in the case we ever recount or relearn new information a new way, that we realize that misinformation and update that mishap. The journey of unlearning discrimination is long, especially for the biases we hold towards ourselves. We will cover all of these themes of discrimination and biases, and unlearning the social systems that conditioned us to have them.

Identifying Predators

Cyber security and online predators have become a new age of caution our generation (Gen Z) handled head on at a very young age. There are several online websites and apps that are very dangerous. Communication education with parents and friends, as well as understanding how to see if an online conversation is appropriate, dangerous, and/or if there are boundaries you need to set in an online chat. We don't have a lot of experience in Cyber Security, but we do have experience with online grooming, and understanding what precautions need to be taken to keep it safe.

People will try very hard to groom/ manipulate others in a way that seems safe at first, and this can also be cautionary. Make sure you know exactly who you are talking to when you are online.

Resources

There are Several non-profits that work with people of all kinds, many go unnoticed because of the specificity or city they work in. We are doing our best to build an arrsenal of non-profit resources for you to be able to look at and use if needed. Remember that resources are available everywhere, especially between groups. We also at the bottom of each page have a list of phone numbers that are potentially helpful for communities around the United States. Our list will build and if you have or know of a non-profit, please give us a comment and give us that information.
